If you ask me about one thing that is ubiquitous in Chennai apart from the delicious idli and dosai, I would say it’s the flowers. It can never happen that you keep your eyes open and cannot see flowers – in baskets, in temples and on hairs.
This time I decided to have a stroll at the place from which they all come from – the Flower Market in George Town.
Officially christened as Badrian Street, it will be difficult to find the place unless you ask for Pookadai (literally – flower shop).
If you want to treat your eyes with vibrant colours and nose with some stimulating smell, try going there an early morning.
Following is my endeavor to capture the flavor of the place.
Though the British have left decades ago, their marks still remain strong.
For some it was serious business time.
Thanks to my friend Senthil for accompanying me to the market. Its always fun shooting out with friends sharing the same passion.
