Yanam is one of the regions in the Union Territory of Puducherry or Pondicherry. It is located on the eastern coast of India, in the district of East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. It is situated at a place where the rivers Coringa and Godavari meet and is bounded on the east and south by these rivers. Yanam separates the Coringa river and Godavari river.
Yanam was once a French colony and is now a part of Pondicherry. The nearest railway station is at Kakinada, which is only 26km away. Towns like Kakinada, Vishakhapatnam and Rajahmundry are very well connected by road to Yanam. Chennai is 62kms away.
