Bada Bagh, Jaisalmer

Bada Bagh, Jaisalmer

Bada Bagh, also known as Bara Bagh literally means a spacious, palatial garden. Situated just six kilometers away from Jaisalmer, enroute Ramgarh, the garden boasts of royal cenotaphs with beautifully, carved images of the late Maharawals and their families. Each Chhatri preserves an inscribed tablet recording the death of Maharawals.

The chhatris are constructed in a set pattern, albeit in different sizes. An unearthly beauty surrounds the statues and cenotaphs of the former rulers. Many a tourists throng to visit this place to catch a glimpse of the sunset.
