Saurabh is the Founder and Chief Educator at SIA Photography. His dream is to see India and to make every camera-owner a great photographer. Through his Webinars, Online Courses, 1:1 sessions, Photowalks, and Photo-Tours, he has been sharing his knowledge with photography enthusiasts since 2011.
With over 50 Photography Workshops and 100 photowalks / field trips annually, SIA Photography is one of the most active Photography groups in India.
SIA stands for Shutter, ISO and Aperture - the three aspects that control the exposure of a picture. SIA in Persian means something that brings joy and that is what photography for us is all about.
Out of his dream to see India and to make every camera-owner a great photographer, Saurabh Chaterjee founded SIA Photography in 2011. Through his Webinars, Online Courses, 1:1 Mentoring sessions, PhotoWalks and Photography Tours, he has been sharing his knowledge and his passion with photography enthusiasts.
Since 2011, he has trained more than 6000 people across the globe through his Photography Workshops, Photowalks and Photo-tours and online sessions. He has written over 200 travel articles for various magazine and newspapers.
His works have been published in several national and international publications including the National Geographic Traveller, Lonely Planet, Timeout Explorer (UK), The Times (London, UK), Schmap (Ireland), India Coffee Table book (Poland), The National (Dubai), Dromedar(Slovakia), etc.
He is a regular contributor to Deccan Herald, Deccan Chronicle, Discover India, TimeoutExplorer, FEMINA, Jetwings International travel magazine, Maharashtra Ahead, the official magazine of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations, Government of Maharashtra, Coffee Table on India � 29 Indias One Nation.

2021: Saurabh was invited as a Panelist: Tribal Photography in National Tribal Dance Festival 2021 by the Government of Chhattisgarh.

2020: He was invited for a presentation and workshop at Kingston Camera Club, UK (estd.1893) one of the oldest camera clubs in the U.K.
He was also invited to deliver a talk and workshop on Travel Photography at the Photographic Society of Madras (PSM), Chennai - one of the oldest Photographic Societies in the world.
He has led several photo walks for Fujifilm India.
He was one of the official trainers for SONY SLTs at Byas Academy of Photography.

Since I go back to many places multiple times, I carry prints with me, find my subjects who I have photographed, and gift them a print. I have had enlightening experiences since I started doing this. Most of them are taken by surprise as I return after a year or so.
I believe we photographers are very selfish people. We take pictures of people without giving anything back to them.
Many of us promise to give them back when asked, but we get busy in our activities as soon as we get back to our hectic schedule. This act completes the workflow, the purpose of the picture - to reach its subject.
